I haven’t seen a Signet or Samara in BC in eons, although a Niva is spotted once in a blue moon.

I still remember seeing a red Signet wagon in Vancouver over 20 years ago, I kind of want that.

I think I remember seeing a Samara a few months ago, but I’m not sure. Nivas used to be quite common, but they’re a rare sight now. Signets and Sagonas are basically nonexistent.

I saw a Samara for sale once. Nivas come up for sale every once in a while, but they’re usually some variety of worn out. I did see a brand new looking 2106 in a Canadian Tire earlier this year, that was weird.

I don’t think I have ever seen a Sagona in real life.

I remember seeing a Samara for sale in the late 90s, it was $300, which made me laugh as it was only maybe 7 years old then.

I remember seeing a perfectly pukey green Niva somewhere out in the valley every time I was there, but that’s been ages ago too.

Have a Canadian car.

Kinja'd!!!

So far as I know it’s the only Canadian built car that has ever been offered here. It’s a very slow seller I’m afraid because too big and too expensive for a Ford.

Don’t forget the Canadian built McLaughlin-Buicks that were sold in the UK and possibly Ireland as well in the Thirties.

I see your Lancia built in Brampton and raise you a Volvo Canadian, built in Halifax.

Canadia-market Lada you say?

Kinja'd!!!

$400... And if it wasn’t 1700 km away she’d be sitting in my driveway already.

It may be surrounded by a forest that’s grown around it, but it’s still probably in better condition than when it came off the production line.

Lada life.

Might be one or two private imports but otherwise no.

There have been various attempts to sell American cars in the UK but withour much success. The only American car widely on sale in Europe is the Mustang and that’s a niche product.

Corvette (under its own brand) and Cadillac have been operating over there for a while I think. I was just wondering if the camaro had been brought over to compete with the mustang. But I guess not.

We’ve never had any of those in Ireland, they’ve probably tried elsewhere.

Edit: they offer the Camaro in the UK (lhd only so minuscule sales) and on the continent.
